Midnight in Paris is already one of my favorite Woody Allen films. And I just watched it for the first time last night! It's a fresh, fantastical, funny film set in the beautiful city of Paris staring Owen Wilson and Marion Cotillard.
I went into the film having only watched the trailer (which is very vague) so I was incredibly and happily surprised with the details of the plot. I recommend seeing it that way--don't read reviews that give away details. Just trust me when I say that the film works well if you, like Owen Wilson's character unassumingly stumbling into the Parisian nightlife, go in hoping to be entertained but not expecting anything specific.
I especially recommend the film to all Woody Allen lovers, fans of 20th Century American Literature, and fans of 19th-20th Century European Art.
